Complex setup and a near expert level of computer competence are needed by IT professionals and the super tech savvy to access and control a computer remotely. High monthly fees also need to be shelled out by these professionals for the remote access. A cost-effective app for Android (News - Alert) phones and tablets has been launched by Mobisoft Corp. As the app allows users to remotely control the PCs, the app has been aptly named Imperio after the “Imperius Curse” from the popular Harry Potter films.
Priced at only $9.99, Imperio will make remote PC access an essential everyday tool for anyone’s mobile device. For the first lucky 1000 users however, the straightforward easy-to-install system will be available only for $4.99.
According to Dan Metcalfe, CEO of Mobisoft Corp., keeping the users in mind, the company has built Imperio from the ground up. The company realizes that most remote access tools like RDP or VNC programs are too complex and corporate focused.
In a release, Metcalfe said, “We wanted to design an app that was powerful, but simple enough that anyone could use it, I’m confident that users will find we have done just that.”
Imperio is at par with some major competitors including LogMeIn (News - Alert) Ignition and Wyse in terms of features and speed. Users can turn on their computers remotely with Imperio. Users will therefore be able to access all their files and application. Users will always have data at their fingertips with Imperio’s quick and easy file transfers to and from device.
Imperio also allows for music and audio streaming from PC to Mobile. This will allow the user to see and hear what’s going on. The remote computer screen can be easily navigated from the mobile device with the Pinch/Pull feature of Imperio.
Imperio has PC compatibility with Windows 7, XP, Visa and all Windows Server versions. Unlimited remote machine access on one license is provided with Imperio’s multi-device support feature. Imperio also features built in NLA or Network Level Authentication and TLS security methods. The app also features RDP 256-bit and 128-bit SSL encryption. Imperio also has Android compatibility on mobile devices and tablets.
