AppId is over the quota
Many years ago, there was a huge push about Twitter marketing tools. It was thought that you could use Twitter as an effective means to build a list of potential buyers for your products or services. But the question is, were any of those programs that were released, actually doing you any good? Just how effective is Twitter marketing? This article will examine the case for becoming involved and to find if it will really repay your time and effort.
I was one of those who was curious to determine if getting a huge following on Twitter was going to help my product promotion endeavors and so paid for the tools. Not only did I put out money to register in programs that would get me followers but I invested in a number of softwares to help promote the products I was selling. All in all, I ended up investing in about eight different programs that would assist me with all of this.
I invested in a program that would automatically follow people for me in an attempt to prompt them to follow me back. If anyone was not following me, I had another program that would automatically take them off my to-follow list. This way I could be following other people who might follow me reciprocally. Some of the programs I invested in are not interesting enough to bring up but I will just mention a useful program that auto-Tweeted any blog posts I made each time they were published. In the beginning, I was genuinely pleased with the end results after using the programs in combination because they truly delivered on what they promised. I was quickly brought down to earth when I went over my spreadsheet and saw that I wasn't actually making any money! My plan was to post multiple blog entries daily and each of them was then sent straight to appear on Twitter. Then I discovered a way to have all the posts done for me automatically, believing that the more posts I would have the more Twitter users who would see them.
So let me reveal to you my results. After three years utilizing these tools, I had gained almost 10,000 Twitter followers. And while you may think that is fantastic, just wait. During those three years I had affiliate links to my products on more than 15,000 posts in my Twitter account. My blog posts showing on Twitter was the only type of advertising for that blog I did and to determine the effectiveness of Twitter I did not even ping new posts as they were published. Well, you can't say that 3 years isn't long enough to obtain decent results but using Twitter I just got 2 - 4 visitors daily to my blog. My affiliate earnings from 2 sales was $47 and to that you can add $8.65 Adsense revenue - pretty dismal all around!
In short, having almost 10,000 followers on Twitter using all these programs will not give you the results you want. The bottom line is that the money I've made is not enough to cover the cost of the Twitter tools I paid for to start with. So in my personal opinion, although there may be good ways to promote on Twitter, using the automatic softwares are not the way to go.
