I thought the cable might be particularly fragile. However, this has not been the case.
After clumsily running the cable from point A to point B and subsequently tugging on it accidentally when moving things around it still works just fine. Of course, I would never advise putting unnecessary stress on a TOSLINK cable, but I'm simply saying that if it has survived my ownership, it will probably survive yours.

Not late. Optical cables are simple, this one is sub par. One end is malformed, but passes digital signals. Not reliable at staying in optical port. Do not recommend this provider. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: 4.0 out of 5 stars Thin is good, long is better, November 15, 2008 This review is from: StarTech.com THINTOS10 10 feet Toslink Digital Optical SPDIF Audio Cable (Electronics) This is the thin version of Toslink cabling, which I use for ADAT in my home recording rig (with Yamaha, RME and Frontier Design ADAT). The extra length is needed for my sprawling setup. I doubt if StarTech manufactures these, but they seem to work as well as what Frontier Design shipped with their Dakota audio card -- though it is probably hard to tell the difference without expensive measurement gear.
